Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for Recon subscription plans.
1. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your Recon subscription at any time. Here's how it works:
- Open the Recon extension popup and navigate to your billing settings, or use the Stripe Customer Portal link
- Click "Cancel Subscription" in the billing portal
- Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period — you won't lose access immediately
- After the billing period ends, your account will revert to the Free plan
No additional charges will be made after cancellation takes effect. You can resubscribe at any time.
2. Refund Policy
Because Recon provides digital services with immediate access upon payment, we generally do not issue refunds for subscription payments already processed. However, we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis under the following circumstances:
- Technical issues — If a verified technical problem on our side prevented you from using the service for a significant portion of your billing period
- Duplicate charges — If you were charged more than once for the same billing period due to a processing error
- Unauthorized charges — If a charge was made without your authorization
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the charge date. To request a refund, email us with your account email and a description of the issue.
3. Free Trial
Recon may offer a one-time free trial of paid features. Trial details:
- No payment information is required to start a trial
- The trial is limited in duration (typically 7 days) and usage (typically 120 units)
- Only one trial is permitted per user account
- When the trial expires or its usage limit is reached, your account reverts to the Free plan unless you subscribe
We encourage you to try the free tier and/or the trial before committing to a paid plan.
4. Plan Changes
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time through the billing portal:
- Upgrading — Takes effect immediately; you will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period
- Downgrading — Takes effect at the start of your next billing period; you retain access to your current plan until then
5. Payment Failures
If a subscription payment fails, we provide a grace period (typically 72 hours) during which your paid access continues while you update your payment method. If payment is not resolved within the grace period, your account will revert to the Free plan.
You can update your payment method at any time through the Stripe billing portal.
