TubeCaps · Install Guide

Install TubeCaps and start working inside YouTube.

The setup is intentionally short: open the Chrome Web Store, add the extension, then configure your local provider settings if your workflow needs them.

For YouTube Live Local Settings

Four quick steps from empty browser to working workflow.

No account wall is required on this page.

Step 1
1

Open the listing

Use the Chrome Web Store button above to land on the TubeCaps extension page.

Step 2
2

Add to Chrome

Click Add to Chrome, review the requested permissions, and confirm the install.

Step 3
3

Pin and open

Pin TubeCaps in the browser toolbar, then refresh or reopen a YouTube video page so the extension UI is ready.

Step 4
4

Configure local settings

If your workflow needs AI processing, choose a provider, save the local settings, and run the built-in connection test.

What happens after install

The extension is ready to work inside YouTube once the browser finishes the install and the page is refreshed.

  • Open a YouTube video and launch TubeCaps from the toolbar or page UI
  • Capture the transcript and move straight into summary or rewrite work
  • Keep provider, model, and language preferences in local browser storage

Troubleshooting the first run

If the first open does not look right, the issue is usually install state, page refresh, or local provider settings.

  • If the store button is unavailable, retry from a Chrome profile where extension installs are enabled
  • If the UI does not appear, refresh the current YouTube tab after the install finishes
  • If AI calls fail, recheck the saved provider settings and connection test result

Install first. Configure only what you need.

TubeCaps is easiest to evaluate from the live extension flow on an actual YouTube video page.
